It is being hailed as the "next big thing" in PC gaming following from the phenomenally successful World of Warcraft. And Future Shop will hold its typical midnight madness events in celebration of the launch of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty.
The game will hit shelves on Monday, July 26, 2010, but Future Shop will open stores at midnight to allow anxious gamers to be among the first to play it. What's more, the first 50 people in line will get a Starcraft II hat and poster; and the first 20 people in line will receive a free gaming headset. Judging from past events, Future Shop notes that line-ups typically start after 9 p.m.
All Future Shop location but those in Sudbury, ON and in Quebec will open at midnight; locations in those spots will open doors early at 8 a.m.
In addition to buying the game for the $59.99 purchase price, customers can also trade-in two Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, or Xbox games (or a combination) to be used toward the purchase of Starcraft.
The Starcraft game first debuted 12 years ago. This follow-up version of the strategy game now includes a 3D graphic engine. It can be played on both the Windows PC and Macs.
