Mondrec, a supplier of luggage and leather in Europe for over 25 years, offers a broad range of product that includes Gino Ferrari Laptop Carrying Cases and Backpacks, which it is bringing to North America.
"We have been keeping an eye on the North American market for some time, waiting for the right time to make a move for expansion," says Syd Snowball, Chairman of the group's U.K. head office. "We feel that we can offer the North American consumer a better combination of quality and value within the laptop carrying case market than is currently available."
Spearheading the subsidiary is John Steward, Managing Director, who has over 20 years of experience in both the luggage and IT industries. Most recently, he spent more than 12 years as V.P. of Sales and Marketing with Targus Canada Ltd., and more than six years at Modrec in the U.K.
"I am very excited to be bringing Modrec International into North America", says Steward, "I think the North American market will see very quickly why Modrec has been so successful for over 25 years in the UK and Europe."
The Gino Ferrari range consists of six backpacks ranging in price from $49.99-$99.99); five casual messenger bags ($49.99-$79.99); four traditional business cases ($29.99-$99.99); a "ladies" case ($49.99), two overnight rolling laptop cases (both $199.99); and three luggage carriers ($99.99-$149.99).
Each laptop case is designed to fit either a 13", 16", or 17" laptop, and includes compartments for stowing accessories. The backpacks have adjustable padded shoulder straps, easy access pockets, and headphone ports for MP3 players. The three top loading business cases have trolley pass-through straps making them ideal for travel. The roller cases fit up to 17" laptops.
Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, Modrec's Gino Ferrari laptop cases will be available at retailers across Canada and the U.S. in October.
