RIM Offering Free PlayBook to Android Developers

Research in Motion (RIM) is offering developers a free BlackBerry PlayBook to developers that port their Android application to the tablet's OS.

The company did not make this announcement in an official press release. Instead, RIM's Vice President of Developer Relations, Alec Saunders, made it yesterday on Twitter.

The Tweet read: "Shh.... Android Devs - submit your Android app to BB AppWorld by Feb 13 and get a free Playbook..."

Developers that are registered with BlackBerry App World can get their hands on a 16 GB PlayBook if they port and submit their app to BlackBerry's App World by the aforementioned deadline. All apps submitted must meet BlackBerry App World Vendor Guidelines.
