Universal Remote Control (URC) has added a pair of products to its Network Series.
The MRX-1 network base station receives IR and serial commands from any URC network control, including the flagship MX-6000, MX-5000 wand remote, and new KP-4000 (more below). Each MRX-1 has its own unique MAC address, which allows for correct routing to multiple MRX-1 units throughout the home. It is available for an MSRP of $500.
The KP-4000 network keypad ($700) can control A/V devices, energy management products, multi-zone matrixes, computers, the PSX-2 Personal Server, and URC lighting products. Through MAC addressing, multiple KP-4000s and MRX-1 base stations can control a multitude of components.
"We are very excited at the opportunity to represent URC's Network Series of product," says Steven Freytag, General Manager of SF Marketing's Consumer Division, a Canadian distributor of URC products. "We will be launching URC's Network Series of product with a number of on-line Web trainings as well as regional trainings across the country to ensure dealers and installers are fully trained and are able to take full advantage of the products."
