Amazon.com Inc. has struck a licensing deal with Viacom that will give its Amazon Prime members the ability to instantly stream TV shows from a collection of popular channels. Terms of the agreement haven't been disclosed.
Programming from MTV (The Hills, Jersey Shore), Comedy Central (The Sarah Silverman Program), Nickelodeon (iCarly, Dora the Explorer), TV Land (Hot in Cleveland), Spike, VH1, BET, and CMT will now be readily available to said members.
Prime Instant Videos can now provide its clientele with more than 15,000 movies and TV shows, which can be viewed across 300 different devices, including the Kindle Fire.
Amazon Prime is a membership program that provides shoppers with unlimited fast shipping, such as free two-day shipping and one-day shipping for US$3.99 per item, for an annual membership fee of $79. Members also have access to unlimited, commercial-free, instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows through Amazon Instant Video at no additional cost.
Amazon Prime, its Instant Videos service, and the Kindle Fire are currently only available in the U.S.
