Rogers Communications has officially launched Rogers One Number (RON). This service allows the customer to text, talk, and video chat from his computer, while still using his wireless number.
Through RON, an individual's texts, calls, and e-mails can be organized into one unified inbox, and contacts can be synced across his wireless phone and the RON Website. Additionally, wireless calls can be instantly switched over to one's computer, or vice versa, with the click of a button. Regular wireless charges apply for portions of the call made from one's phone.
Text messages can also be sent and received from the computer, through the RON Website. All calls, online video chats, and outgoing text messages exchanged between RON users are free of charge, even if a person is checking in from the U.S., or even further abroad.
The service is available on Mac and PC devices.
Rogers wireless customers can set up a RON profile, and watch a video demonstrating how the service works, at www.rogersonenumber.ca.
