Sennheiser has selected the top-three entrants in its Ultimate Sound Hook Up contest that will afford one lucky winner with a $10,000 "hook up".

Launched in November 2009, the contest asked entrants to submit a video, essay, or photos that depict what their ultimate hook up would look like. Maybe it's a trip to a foreign country to attend a popular music festival or concert; a newly-built recording studio in the basement; or perhaps even a private concert with your favourite musical band. The catch is that all submissions had to incorporate Sennheiser products, and express the importance of good sound. The ultimate prize will then be awarded to the winner and five of his friends.

Entries were accepted through to December 31, 2009, and the three finalists have been chosen from more than 100 entries: The Sensational Six; Andrew Bean; and Rick Reese and Neon Highway. The videos represent diverse performances; from a 22-year-old music lover's humorous plea for to meet his favourite band Muse, to a family of six performing an entertaining rap song. In all three videos, Sennheiser products are prominently featured and/or spoken about; clearly showing that entrants are die-hard fans of the brand.

The competition was promoted on the Sennheiser Website, as well as through various social media Websites, including YouTube and Facebook.
