Today, at its Mississauga, ON, offices, AVAD and nearly 50 vendors braved the blistering heat for the fourth edition of Vendopalooza - the one-day Canadian tradeshow that offers dealers, custom installers and manufacturers the chance to exchange pleasantries and discuss product.
Set up in the company's parking lot beneath a sizeable white tent, vendors like Sharp, Polk Audio, Marantz, Denon, Chief, Toshiba and Monster displayed some of their latest offerings on a series of three to six foot tables.
In addition to the outdoor trade event, Vendopalooza also presented a series of free training sessions that took place throughout the course of the day. Topics for these seminars ranged from learning how to sell more audio, to the ABC's of digital signage and to a how-to on how to get into the commercial marketplace through utilizing AVAD's commercial portfolio.
At the show, Scot Kerek, AVAD Canada's Canadian Sales Manager, informed Marketnews that his company prefers taking part in a tradeshow like this, as opposed to something as grand as CEDIA.

"We as a company have stepped back a little bit from the larger trade shows that have gone on," he explains. "We're finding that a more local, regional, rolling event is producing better results for us. It's a friendlier atmosphere and a little more casual."
Kerek finds that some of those "better results" come in the form of receiving a significant return on investment through the hosting of Vendopalooza. He notes that it encourages vendors to come back after the fact with specials and programs. Additionally, as one could assume, the event offers dealers the incentive to come in and try something new.
