KEF Spices Up Reference Line with 12 Custom Colours

KEF will now offer its Reference Series speakers in 12 vibrant custom finishes, each of which intentionally relates to the colours of leading luxury vehicles.

The colours are painted in high gloss, with multiple layers of lacquer. Each is polished by hand to a "mirror finish." The result, says KEF, is a shine that also compares to the partner automobiles.

It will take approximately three months to fulfill an order for a custom-coloured speaker, and each will cost 15% more than its piano black counterpart. All KEF dealers will carry sample swatches of the 12 new colours, which are: Graphite (Metallic Dark Grey); Grigio (Metallic Mid Grey); Stardust (Metallic Silver); Pale Gold (Metallic Gold); Garnet (Metallic Dark Red); Sapphire (Metallic Dark Blue); Orange Sorbet (Metallic Orange; shown here); Lime Sorbet (Metallic Bright Green); Lemon Sorbet (Metallic Yellow); Snow White (Gloss White); Racing Red (Bright Red); and Racing Blue (Bright Blue).

In addition to the 12 aforementioned colours, KEF will also custom build-to-order colours by special arrangement for customers who prefer their own personal shade.
